Get to know megan

Originally from Denver, Colorado, Megan is a one-of-a-kind cellist who specializes in Musical Theatre and Contemporary Performance.  Megan also frequently acts as a collaborating composer and orchestrator for musical theatre shows and contemporary classical music.  As a member of Maestra and the Musical Theatre Writing Collective, Megan frequently participates and collaborates on new musical workshops.  Outside of musical theatre, Megan studies contemporary classical music composition under Max Grafe at Montclair State University.  Megan studied Agriculture and Cello Performance at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.  Here, Megan studied cello under Mr. Benjamin Cline and performed under the baton of Maestro Shah Sadikov and Dr. Brian Buckstead.  Also at Fort Hays State University, Megan worked as the stage manager for the Fort Hays State University Theatre Department.  On the electric cello, Megan has played with metal bands in Colorado and Kansas and continues to seek new opportunities for this instrument.

When not playing or making music, Megan can be found at home in farmland NJ with their fiancĂ©, Sofia.  Megan enjoys doing farm maintenance, gardening, and helping take care of the horses and sheep.  Growing up, Megan was a competitive equestrian and livestock exhibitor and that passion has remained into adulthood.  Megan and Sofia also spend their free time grilling and making new dishes and drinks for friends and family.  Off the farm, Megan and Sofia adventure around the world and enjoy perfecting the art of photography.

Megan’s immediate family is completed by two cats, Effie Rose and Thumper, and a spunky Thoroughbred mare, Kilty.
